The San Antonio Spurs have reported a record-breaking 68,323 spectators for an NBA regular-season game at the Alamodome for their comeback.

On Friday night, the Golden State Warriors visited the Spurs' former home as part of their 50th anniversary season.

The Golden State Warriors defeated the San Antonio Spurs 144-113 on Friday night in front of an NBA-record attendance of 68,323 in the Alamodome where 25 points were made by Jordan Poole and 22 points by Donte DiVincenzo.

The previous attendance record had been broken on March 27, 1998, when 62,046 people watched Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls play the Atlanta Hawks at the Georgia Dome.

Steve Kerr said: "The presentation of the game was spectacular. For me, it was a bit of a trip down memory lane. I got emotional before the game. They played the video and introduced me. To get an ovation from 68,000 fans gives you chills. This was a really special night. The Spurs made it special."

Kerr also added: "It was a really cool environment…. Very unique with the court in the middle of the dome. Maybe it took a little bit for our guys to get adjusted, but all in all our guys came and were very aggressive."

Gregg Popovich said: "The fans enjoyed themselves, even though we were getting our ass kicked…... they seemed to be having a hell of a time, so there must have been a lot of beer sales out there."

When the Warriors took a 30-point lead in the fourth quarter, Spurs supporters responded by waving for a continuous five minutes.
