WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long believes that WWE Creative Head Triple H should bring CM Punk back during this year's Royal Rumble match.

The former Smackdown GM talking to Sportskeeda said that Triple H and Punk should keep their differences aside and work together again for the WWE.

Veteran Wrestling Journalist Bill Apter then pitched an idea where Punk would enter the Rumble from the number 28 spot to a huge pop from the live crowd.

Punk is currently suspended from AEW after he was involved in a backstage fight with WWE EVPs Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks last year.

According to reports, Tony Khan is set to buy out the former AEW World Champion's contract which will make him a free agent on the market.

It'll be interesting to see if Punk will go back to the WWE after the way his previous run in the Stamford-based promotion ended as he was fired on his wedding day back in 2014.

WWE's Chief Content Officer Triple H was recently asked about The Straight Edge Superstar and he admitted that he would love to bring him back if it is best for business.
