Apart from being a former basketball player, Shaquille O'Neal is also a great businessman with a net worth of over $400 million.

Shaq owns up to 50 brands in total in different industries such as fitness. Some companies include Auntie Anne's, Five Guys, Papa John's, Krispy Kreme, 40 Fitness Centres, and 150 Car Washes.

Shaq owns the 3rd largest pizza company in the US, Papa John's which has 9 outlets in Atlanta. He earns almost $4 million in stocks and his salary in a 3-year tenure from Papa John's, being their board of directors.

Shaq is the brand ambassador and board member of Papa John's. He also appeared in the advertisements and commercials of this pizza company.

During a recent podcast appearance, Shaquille O'Neal was asked about his stake in Papa John's and he revealed everything.

Shaq, the millionaire detailed how he received an offer to serve as one of the board of directors of the $2.9 billion worth pizza chain, while he was already owning some chains.

He accepted it because John Hampton Schnatter, aka Papa John's, was no longer a member of the board on account of facing racial misconduct charges. That was supposedly his requirement for joining the board.

O'Neal said: "I'll be involved if the old boy (John) is not involved," recalling how he got the offer from Papa John's and still remains the company's only African American board member.
