Michael Jordan Hated the NBA MVP Trophy for a Noble Reason

Michael Jordan is a man for whom superlatives are insufficient. He has always inspired and will continue to inspire generations of NBA players. It's only fair to call him the GOAT, given his remarkable performance in sports.

The NBA has unveiled the Michael Jordan Most Valuable Player Award, which symbolizes "an MVP's endless chase for greatness." However, Jordan is not happy with the trophy named after him.

Michael Jordan does not want the MVP trophy to look like him while all the other new trophies look like the player they are named after.

When Michael Jordan was asked about the new MVP trophy named after him, he said: "Keep me out of it!"

He also said about the MVP trophy, "A player who wins should see himself in this trophy, not me."

Once in an interview, Jordan was asked, "Do you want to be called the GOAT? " where Jordan replied, "I don't want it in a sense, because I think it disrespects Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, and all the guys that are prior to me".

He also added that he never had a chance to play against these great players. So, he said he would never call himself the greatest player.

Given Jordan's constant denial of being called the GOAT, it stands to reason that he didn't want the NBA trophy to resemble him, but rather to allow each player who wins the award to see themselves in it.
