Triple H reportedly threatened to fire WWE backstage producer and coach D-von Dudley if he went ahead with an appearance on an outside promotion.

The former tag team champion was scheduled to be at the Battleground Championship Wrestling's Tribute To The Extreme Show.

D-von was announced to be at the show during his tag team partner Bully Ray's match against Matt Cardona but was pulled out of the event after WWE denied him permission.

According to Dave Meltzer, D-von got the approval from John Cone from the WWE Talent Relations to be at the show but now Triple H has decided not to give permission to the veteran.

The Chief Content Officer reportedly told the WWE veteran that he will be fired from the company if he attended the show.

WWE also sent a legal letter to the promotion for using the term ECW which is an intellectual property of the Stamford based company.

The Hall of Famer decided not to appear at the event after he was threatened to get released from his current WWE contract.

WWE reportedly didn't want to let their employee at any physical risk by being at an outside promotion. However, D-von was not booked to get physical at the event according to reports.
