WWE Senior Executive Vice President of Live Events Brian 'Road Dogg' James believes that Charlotte Flair didn't want to work with her father Ric Flair in the WWE.

On his 'Oh… You Didn't Know' podcast, the WWE veteran discussed Charlotte's onscreen split with her dad during her initial WWE run in 2016.

The D Generation X member said that Charlotte felt like she was under her legendary dad's shadows during her initial main roster run so she decided to split with him and go solo.

The WWE Hall of Famer was removed from Charlotte's corner and she was allowed to work as a solo act where she was able to achieve remarkable success.

The former Women's Champion is currently written off TV after her defeat against Ronda Rousey at Wrestlemania Backlash earlier this year.

She got married to former WWE superstar Andrade during her time off and she was seen working out and preparing for her in-ring return on social media.

The Queen is rumored to make her return soon to the WWE and fans expect her to make her comeback at the Royal Rumble match next month.

Ric Flair meanwhile is set to make his WWE return on the January 23rd edition of Raw. A documentary on the legend's career will premiere on December 26th on the WWE network.
