WWE Hall of Famer Edge is currently one of the company's biggest stars. The veteran, despite working a limited schedule is still a big draw among professional wrestling fans.

The Rated R Superstar hasn't featured much on WWE TV this year and according to Fightful Select, it is because his contract only requires him to work limited dates.

His last match was against Finn Balor in an "I Quit" match at Extreme Rules PLE last year which he lost after Rhea Ripley threatened to break his wife Beth Phoenix's neck.

A higher-up also told Fightful that due to Edge's limited schedule, the company were forced to use vignettes to build his matches against Finn Balor and Damian Priest.

The report also states the WWE veteran signed a three-year deal in 2020 where he agreed to work 5 matches and make 25 appearances per year.

It's rumored that the terms in the contract were changed later as Edge competed in ten matches in the year 2021 and nine matches in 2022.

WWE are yet to provide the former WWE champion with a new contract as his current deal is set to expire in 2023 but they reportedly have the option to freeze his deal as he was out with an injury.

It'll be interesting to see what decision Triple H will take with the Hall of Famer. Fans expect the company to keep the veteran star as he's adored by the WWE universe.
