Jimmy Butler of the Miami heat missed his game on Tuesday night against the Chicago Bulls due to gastrointestinal illness.

During the Miami Heat's regular season trip to Mexico, about which Jimmy Butler said that he enjoyed eating crickets on the trip. Probably, eating crickets might have been the cause of his illness.

Butler scored 26 points to lead the Miami Heat to a 111-101 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Mexico this past Saturday.

In a conference after the game, Jimmy said that he loves to play in different parts of the world and enjoys trying out their local cuisines. He also laughingly said that eating crickets helped him to compete well at a high altitude.

He also added that he had crickets on their trip and loved the taste of the dish. So, next time if he goes there again, he will have more crickets.

Butler probably referred to toasted grasshoppers on a comal which are called "Chapulines", when he mentioned crickets. Chapulines are Mexican delicacy that tastes like salt and vinegar potato chips.

Some fans argued whether eating out adventurously is right for a sportsperson. A Twitter user has also compared Jimmy with the late celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain.

The game was on December 17 and Butler missed the Bulls game on 20th December, so it is still not clear whether the stomach bug theory is correct. However, fans made fun of it on social media.
