Upsetting News for CM Punk Fans After AEW Controversy

CM Punk was recently suspended from AEW after he was involved in a backstage fight with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks.

While Omega and the Bucks returned to AEW television, there's no particular update on Punk's status with the company.

There were several reports coming out that AEW owner Tony Khan was planning to pay off Punk's contract and release the controversial star.

While some fans believed that the whole thing was an angle and that the former AEW champion will be returning soon.

Dave Meltzer has now shot down the rumors and confirmed that the backstage fight was not a work and he expects AEW to not turn it into an onscreen angle.

"It's definitely not an angle today.  Many hope it will become one, but the odds are strong that won't happen." Meltzer replied to a fan who was asking about the situation.

Fans are now having mixed opinions on Punk as some fans want Punk back in AEW while others want Tony Khan to fire the star from Chicago.

There are rumors among fans that Punk will be going back to the WWE but as of now, the Straight Edge Superstar's future is unclear.
