TJ Dillashaw, the former two-time UFC Bantamweight Champion, has informed the promotion of his retirement from MMA combat, according to Ariel Helwani.
Helwani confirmed via a Twitter video,"“T.J. Dillashaw notified the UFC within the last two weeks that he was planning on retiring."
Apparently, TJ Dillashaw had a shoulder injury coming off from the Aljamain Sterling fight. Said by Helwani in the video.
The Sterling VS Dillashaw fight took place on the UFC 280 card with Sterling winning the bout by a round 2 TKO.
The doctors told Dillashaw he would require a second surgery looking at his post fight shoulder injury.
Helwani continued to explain that Dillashaw told his manager the fighter himself wanted to "walk away".
