Former WWE and AEW Champion CM Punk after he made his professional wrestling return in 2021 has had his fair share of ups and downs.

The most controversial moment was when he got into a fight backstage with the AEW's Executive Vice Presidents Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks.

The incident forced Tony Khan to suspend all the parties involved and they were all asked to vacate their respective championship titles.

Former WWE superstar Konnan on the "Keepin' It 100" podcast, revealed details about the famous backstage fight.

Konnan said that Punk initially felt that the Young Bucks and Omega were trying to attack him and that forced him to attack one of the bucks first.

Circled Dot

Konnan clarified that the Bucks and Omega went to Punk's locker room to have a conversation and had no intention to fight but Punk was the one who made it worse by throwing the first punch.

This is what led to the massive backstage fight where Punk's trainer Ace Steele also got into it and started beating up the EVPs.

AEW are set to pay off Punk's contract and release him. A surprise return for Punk to the WWE is also heavily rumored among fans.
