Triple H is ushering in a new era in the WWE and has given some of the best events this year so far. That array of spectacular events looks to continue with the company’s upcoming annual live event, Money in the Bank. Over the years, WWE has produced several Money in the Bank winners giving numerous shocks and a handful of upsets to their fans.
This year’s event also has a lot in store as several superstars would be locked in to seal their future by battling it out in a 6-way Money in the Bank ladder match. The returning Seth Rollins also looks to capture the World Heavyweight Title as he faces Damian Priest at the event. Widely regarded as the company’s next Brock Lesnar, Bronn Breakker would be having a shot at Sami Zayn’s Intercontinental Championship at the event as well.
In possibly one of the most hyped matches of the evening, The Bloodline would look to deliver cinema against the team of Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Kevin Owens. Toronto is in for a blast when WWE takes over the Scotiabank Arena on July 6. However, with such a stacked card, several decisions might fire back at the company as they have been over the years.
With so much potential each year, the event has produced a lot of wrong winners. From Otis to Austin Theory, Money in the Bank has often served as a disappointment to the WWE Universe. Join us as we take a look at some of the potential mistakes Triple H should avoid at the mega event this year and give fans a solid show.
It isn’t Seth Rollins’ time to be Champion
The Visionary returned to the red brand after Clash at the Castle and to anyone’s surprise, got booked into a match with Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank. In an attempt to make the fight unique, Priest declared that if he defended the World Heavyweight Championship, Rollins would not be allowed to compete for the belt for the remainder of his reign.
Although Rollins agreed to the terms, the former champion added a condition: if Priest lost in Toronto, he had to depart from The Judgement Day. Given the high stakes, Rollins winning would be one of the most predictable outcomes. The Money in the Bank winner might also be eyeing the match if it happens after the ladder matches adding a bit of unpredictability.
Another huge reason for Rollins not becoming the champion is the addition of different layers in the story of Judgement Day. Liv Morgan has been hugely involved in the faction which adds more to the current storyline. Given the circumstances, it would be exciting to see how Damian retains his confidence in being without the faction.
On certain occasions, Priest has openly stated that he never needs the group but the group needs him more. This might be proved as his stablemates might again help him to retain his title against Rollins. This might as well unlock a new storyline among the Judgement Day members which would ultimately see Priest lose his title to the King of the Ring winner Gunther at SummerSlam.
Randy Orton shouldn’t turn heel and attack Cody Rhodes
The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes finally has a fierce rivalry involving the Bloodline and has his first non title PLE match in his reign so far. Rhodes is not alone in facing Solo Sikoa’s cousins as he is backed up by the Apex Predator Randy Orton and the Prize Fighter Kevin Owens. Fans have been making several theories and storylines for the potential rivalry between Rhodes and Orton.
Many also think that Orton would attack Cody at the event turning heel in the process. This won’t be the best decision as fans don’t want to see another heel run from the veteran. Instead, fans would love to see Cody’s villain arc after many fans have called his reign boring so far. The American Nightmare turning on the WWE Universe is something that every fan would love to see and it is a possibility at Money in the Bank.
Roman Reigns shouldn’t return to confront Solo Sikoa
As disappointing as it may sound, Roman Reigns should not return at Money in the Bank. Given the hype, there are maximum chances that Roman might appear at the event and confront his cousin for running the Bloodline. However Solo is having one of the best runs of his career alongside new faces in the WWE in Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu.
They need time to establish themselves as a demonic group and without anyone’s interference, they will simply do that. Solo would certainly go for the WWE Championship shortly where Roman’s return could spoil everything for the Enforcer. As things stand, Roman’s return is something that should not be part of the company’s plan for Money in the Bank this July.
Jey Uso should not win the Money in the Bank Ladder Match
The Main Event Jey Uso has already made his intentions clear that he will be winning this year’s Money in the Bank briefcase and will go on to become World Champion. However, the company should not compromise the Bloodline storyline by letting Jey win the briefcase. There are chances that he might be re-joining the Bloodline in support of his cousin Roman Reigns and lead a war against Solo’s newly formed Bloodline.
By winning the briefcase, he would certainly not be a part of this storyline and would look to cash it in to become the World Champion. As there are several outcomes possible, Jey winning the briefcase might come as a shock and would create a buzz among the fans.
It all comes to July 6 as an action-packed evening is set up hosted by the Game Triple H. Toronto will be a battlefield as high-profile superstars will go at it with an opportunity of a lifetime at WWE Money in the Bank, live from Toronto, Canada.
