SUMMARY
- The Undertaker interfered in Dwayne Johnson's attempt to help his cousin Roman Reigns beat Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40.
- Hence, perhaps booking The Rock vs. The Undertaker would be the best way forward for WWE.
Once The Rock found himself out of the WWE WrestleMania 40 main event, he introduced the world to his Final Boss avatar. With this new character, Dwayne Johnson dedicated all his efforts to make Cody Rhodes‘ life hell.
The Rock also marked his presence in The Bloodline Rules match between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania Night 2. He thwarted the threat of John Cena, took out the “Mama Rhodes” weight belt, and was ready to inflict pain on The American Nightmare.
Just as The Rock was preyin for a helpless Cody Rhodes, the gong struck inside the arena. The lights went off, signaling the arrival of a certain Deadman. Once the lights came back, The Great One found himself in the vicinity of The Undertaker. A massive Choke Slam followed, taking The Rock out of the equation for good.

Taking to his Instagram, The People’s Champion accused The Phenom of being a constant party pooper throughout his career. Yearning for payback, the Hollywood Superstar stated that he would go after The Deadman at some point. While The Rock is currently targeting The American Nightmare, there are reasons why a feud against The Undertaker might be more compelling.
#1. The Undertaker has a storied history with The Rock’s Bloodline
The Undertaker has battled Yokozuna in a Casket match, thrown Rikishi off the Hell in a Cell, traded blows with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, and faced off against Dwayne Johnson at the peak of his popularity.
It’s fair to say that The Phenom has some serious issues with the whole Samoan dynasty. Through his recent interference in Bloodline’s business, Taker just reopened some forgotten wounds for the Hollywood icon. It was The Deadman’s unexpected involvement that ultimately cost The Tribal Chief his title, something that The Rock wouldn’t take too kindly. A cinematic match between the two legends might be the best way for them to settle their scores.
#2. The Rock vs. The Undertaker would be a more popular mainstream attraction
While Cody Rhodes is a fairly popular name, he is nowhere near as celebrated as The Rock and The Undertaker. The amount of mainstream buzz WWE generated through The Brahma Bull and The Deadman’s WrestleMania appearances signifies that their drawing power hasn’t vanished one bit.

While The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes makes sense from a storyline perspective, fans wouldn’t mind seeing the two Attitude Era legends butt heads one last time either. Given the proper time to build up a good story, The Rock vs. Undertaker would be a great marquee contest for WrestleMania 41.
#3. The proper send-off for The Undertaker in front of the fans
The Phenom had an excellent retirement match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36. It was a cinematic Boneyard match, where The Deadman buried The Phenomenal One to end his career on a high note. However, for someone who has been a fan-favorite for three decades, saying goodbye to The Undertaker without any fans just didn’t seem right.
The Rock can make up for that moment by battling The Undertaker in a proper retirement match in front of the fans. Considering his high star power, The Great One will be the best option to help Taker ride off into the sunset. Most importantly, it will be the rightful closure to The Undertaker’s saga with the Samoan Bloodline.
