The wait is finally over as UFC has announced the date for the showdown between two of the fan favorites, Darren Till and Robert Whittaker on July 25th.
The summer has just begun but the UFC fans are already feeling the heat thanks to the back to back incredible fight cards. And to make things even more exciting Dana White has just announced a bunch of intriguing fights for the fight island.
UFC is going to hold four fight cards on the fight island in July. And the entire fight cards have just been revealed. The biggest fight on the fight island has to be the middleweight showdown between Darren Till and the former champion, Robert Whittaker.
Darren Till reveals alarming body transformation ahead of UFC return
Ever since Till has made a comeback after the disastrous loss against Jorge Masvidal he has been appreciated by the fans dearly. Till put up an impressive performance against Kelvin Gastelum, solidifying his place in the middleweight division. And he has been very entertaining to the fight fans during the pandemic through his social media activities.
Darren Till has a tough task ahead
On the other hand, the former champion, Robert Whittaker will be making his much awaited UFC return after a disappointing outing against Israel Adesanya. Whittaker’s career has been affected badly with some severe injuries.
After two brutal wars against Yoel Romero, Robert Whittaker went on a long hiatus due to injuries. The Aussie fighter would then pulled out of his title defense against Kelvin Gastelum. Although Whittaker showed up for the fight against Adesanya he did not look at his best in probably the biggest fight of his career.
“I have a lot to do in next 8 years”- Darren Till lays out his future plans
However, the former champion will have a huge opportunity to get a victory over a rising star in the division. On the other hand, Darren Till will be looking to send a clear message to the top of the division with a win over former middleweight champion.
The rest of this fight card looks promising as well. It features a heavyweight showdown between Fabricio Werdum and Alexander Gustafsson. It also showcases an iconic battle between Shogun Rua and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
The winner of Darren Till vs Robert Whittaker will certainly get very close to the middleweight title. At the moment, it seems the champion, Israel Adesanya will defend his title against Paulo Costa next.
